THE REASON

Who, Why, where . . .

I have always been the type who enjoys creating the story in my head while looking at the photo rather than vice-versa. I love how a photo, whether it’s complex or simplistic in nature, can draw you in. It is irrelevant how much effort went into creating the photo - what matters is the connection the viewer makes between the image and his/her past or present experiences. It’s the ability for a photo to change someone’s perspective on their experiences that makes photography such an amazing tool. Photos speak differently to each one of us and since they are subjective (like all art) the viewer gets to create their own reality.

Photography for me is the ability to change people’s perspectives on even the most ingrained concepts. How many of us have seen a ‘good’ photo (not even great) of ourselves and instantly erased the inhibitions and lack of confidence from being in front of a camera? That split second, that moment in time is exactly what photography is about for me. It is about changing your perspective on the world you know.

I am a photographer because it challenges me to look at our world in ways the average person might not. When we get older we think we’ve figured it all out and I want to blur the lines to give people options for creating their own personal realities….

As an artist and a photographer I have had the ability to work in many places and in many fields. Not only have I photographed some of the most famous bands in the world, I have work with professional athletes and models. My life, and profession, has allowed me to work around the world and not have to call any one place home. However, at the current moment in time I am located in Krakow, Poland. Being here, in Europe, has given me a wonderful location for quick travel to many wonderful countries.

I was born and raised in California, I see the world through multi-colored eyes. Life is inherently good, people inherently kind and the world is an open realm to discover and enjoy. Photography was always a hobby for me, until I started traveling. When I realized that people and life seemed different from behind the lens, I never looked back. Most of my work is freelance, which means that I try not to use a tripod and seldom SCHEDULE a direction for the client to go in - instead I take the moment for what it is and try to capture it. We are all unique and no single pose fits any of us. With that said, I will obviously do my best to make sure that direction is part of any photo package. As for my prices, please see the attached sheet. If nothing else, the last few years have taught us that nothing stays the same day-to-day. I do my best to be exceptionally reasonable while providing a memorable experience.

After years of shooting professional basket, football and soccer (as well as shooting high-school and college events) McLaughlin Photography is offering their services to individuals.

Landscapes / Nature

Landscapes and nature are all around us and yet we tend to miss them on a daily basis. It is amazing how many people I meet who don’t know about the beautiful places in their own town or city. At McLaughlin Photo we like to capture the local beauty all around us and then offer those to people and businesses for use on their walls. More off, we are also open to requests to photograph a particular place – please feel free to send those requests and we will do our best to oblige.

Your engagement session is often the one of the exciting first steps in the wedding process. As a prelude to the big day, it's an awesome opportunity to grab some fun, casual shots of the two of you, for us to get to know you and your story and most importantly...feel confident behind our camera. We believe in the power of engagement sessions so much that we do one for every wedding couple as a part of their collection. We often capture our couples in some of their favorite places, doing some of their favorite things or bringing props that represent them as a couple. It's a GREAT way to connect and share what's meaningful to you with us. With a passion for fusing a dramatic, fashion forward feel combined with a photo-journalistic style to our art, we capture those distinctive moments your wedding day brings. We currently live in Krakow, Poland but are open to weddings across Europe and The States. We give people the opportunity to stop and revel in moments of time with the ones they love. Whether it's taking the images, viewing the images or sharing them with friends/family, we love giving you the opportunity to spend quality time with the one you love multiple times throughout this special time in your life. Once the bridal procession, vows, champagne and last notes of music are over, generations will view your photographs. We view your wedding album as your first family heirloom and utilize only the highest quality archival prints, albums and products that will last lifetimes.
